The Journey ...

" Train up a child in the way she should go; even when she is old she will not depart from it" - Proverbs 22:6.
I just thought to share the above verse as I introduce my daughter to some of you that may not know her. Her name is Valerie/Makanaka.
At the moment, Valerie and I are currently away on holiday : )
But in other more important news, just a few days ago I launched this blog and it was such a good turn out. The page views were more than I expected and the feedback was great, all thanks to you.
Late January this year the idea of launching a blog was brought to my attention and my first thought was: everybody has a blog nowadays, what would make mine stand out? At that thought I immediately brushed the idea off and continued with my life as usual. However, the idea kept knocking at my door and I felt I had to respond.
From the very beginning I made this simple decision that whatever I would decide the blog to be about, God had to be a part of it and at the centre of it all. Through the many options I can assure you it wasn't easy to stick by that decision but I stood by my word. There was just so much to consider; the audience, when I do collaborations and most importantly if I was even built for all this.
A few months later I began planning and putting things into perspective. I looked forward to the journey but questioned myself every now and again. Here are some of the things I asked myself (just to name a few) :
  1. Reasons vs Motives - right reason, right motive?
  2. Can you finish what you start?
  3. When and if success comes, can you stay humble?
They came a point when the ship was ready to sail, by this I mean, everything from website to pages was set for a launch but I questioned myself and thought there is no way I can do this!
Then I remembered a message my Senior Pastor, Ps Glyn from !Audacious Church had preached, he spoke about bridging the gap between our limitations and what God can do.
I also held onto Bible scripture, Phillipians 1 verse 6 which read: "And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns." Also Proverbs 3:6 which reads: "in everything you do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success"
I kept in line with his Word, assessed myself and found great comfort in knowing that the God I was about to serve in this way would undoubtedly give me strength to endure all the hurdles ahead.
It was then that a date was set and the blog was released.

Thank you for taking time to read today's post.

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "who shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Hear I am! Send me." - Isaiah 6 verse 8.
Hello and welcome to my blog! I am so excited that I can finally share with you something I have been working on for quite some time.
